Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced producer, you’ll often find yourself looking for free loops and samples to add to your collection.
Buying loops and samples can be expensive. If you’re a producer on a tight budget, paying $40-$50 for a sample pack is usually out of the question.
So where can I find FREE loops and samples?
Thankfully, there are countless FREE loops and samples out there to download, you just need to know where to look.
You can often find free loops and samples in free “taster packs” for paid products, so the quality of these free samples is usually incredibly high.
Plus, there are free samples from any genre imaginable, including lofi hip hop, dubstep, future bass, ambient music and even FX for cinematic soundtracks.
So without further ado, here are the best resources for FREE loops and samples in 2022, that will give you amazing sounds without having to pay a penny.

This year, we released our ultimate list of the best free loops and samples of 2022, across a range of genres. To date, it is the most popular post on our entire site.
This huge resource contains links to countless individual free sample packs, organised by type (Drum samples, MIDI, etc.)
In total it includes links to 50GB+ of free loops and samples, so it’s more than enough to get you started.
Our personal favourites from the list include “Black Octopus – Stay Inspired Vol 2” and “Cymatics – Pharoah“, which both include many unique, high-quality loops and samples.
You can check out the full list here.
3. Music Radar Free Loops and Samples Collection
Music Radar have an absolutely incredible collection of free loops and samples, totalling 70,729 free music sample downloads!
All the samples are supplied in WAV format. They are also 100% royalty free to use in your music (all they ask is that you don’t re-distribute the samples themselves).
This massive library of samples is (thankfully) listed alphabetically, so it’s easy to find the samples you’re looking for. The free loops and samples are also incredibly diverse, including cinematic, lofi, 80’s, dancehall, dutch house, techno, UK Garage, hip hop and even acapella vocal samples.
There really is something for everyone in this collection, so it definitely should be on your radar (excuse the pun).

4. r-loops Free Samples
r-loops is another online resource for commercial loops and samples, mainly focusing on hip hop / trap sounds.
By navigating to their Free section of the site, you can browse their impressive selection of FREE loops and samples. From my experience, the samples are high-quality and are perfect for hip hop producers looking to expand their sample arsenal.
In detail expect to find over 65 free hip hop sample packs, 11 trap sample packs, and 3 EDM / house sample packs. All trap / EDM / hip hop samples are available in multiple formats such as WAV, ACID Loops, MIDI & Reason Refill. All sound kits are Royalty-Free, meaning you can use them in personal or commercial compositions at no extra cost.
A good free sample pack to start with is “Diamond Class“, a pack of 105 Trap and Dirty South loops, include all the separate drum tracks for perfect drum loop mixing, as well as individual drum hits and must-have basses and synths. Highly recommend.

5. SampleFocus Free Loops and Samples
SampleFocus is a great community-uploaded sample resource. This means all the downloadable sounds are uploaded by other producers looking to share their work with other like-minded people.
The SampleFocus interface is easy to use, responsive and meticulously organised which makes finding a specific sound very straight-forward.
The website works via “download credits”. Each week, your account receives 5 download credits, allowing you to download 5 individual loops and samples for free. You can earn more by uploading samples of your own to the site (currently you receive 4 credits per approved upload).
So admittedly the process can get a little longwinded if you’re looking to download a large amount of samples, but this is a great resource if you’re looking for some quick inspiration.
Plus, one of the reasons SampleFocus is so popular is that all the sounds are royalty free and no attribution is required!

6. Reddit
One surprisingly effective way to find free loops and samples is on Reddit. If you spend any time on the internet, it’s likely you’ve visited Reddit at some point.
On the individual subreddit r/DrumKits you can browse thousands of free drum loops and one-shots, across a range of genres. Most of the drum kits are provided via Google Drive links and contain hip hop / trap drums. However you can also find EDM, future bass and other drum sounds in the subreddit as well.

7. Looperman
Looperman is an online resource for discovering free sounds, and contains a staggering 180,000+ individual samples. The sounds include everything from lofi guitar melodies, to aggressive techno drum loops, and everything in between. Like SampleFocus, the content is user-uploaded so it allow you to download loops created by other producers out there.
You can browse the sounds via genre, key or tempo, making it easy to find the sounds you’re looking for.
Samples on the site are royalty free, but have a read through the terms so you understand the uploading / downloading and use of loops and samples.
8. Freesound
Freesound is a collaborative database of Creative Commons Licensed sounds, mainly focusing on foley and atmospheric sounds.
This is a fantastic database of free loops and samples, but there is a catch. The sounds are not ALL 100% royalty free, and they all have different “licenses” depending on the type of sound.
If you want to read more on which licenses you are free to use, click here. Alternatively, if you want to save yourself the headache, try one of the other sample libraries on this list.

LoopCult currently offer 15 high-quality free sample packs, including dubstep, future bass, experimental and UK drill samples.
Each pack contains 100’s of free premium-quality samples, and all the sounds are 100% royalty free.
