Auburn Sounds is an audio plugin development company which currently has 3 outstanding plugins available. One of these is the powerful audio spatialization plugin: Panagement 2. This updated version of the popular binaural panning processor integrates reverb and delay effects packaged in an intuitive, beautiful designed interface.

This plugin has a free version, which includes all the features of the paid product, minus the new delay function and the GMT-400 mod chip.

Sonic teleportation: Our thoughts on the updated Panagement plugin

Upon opening the plugin, you’re immediately met with a striking, futuristic design similar to the other plugins by Auburn Sounds. The interface is packed with features and parameters, but is presented in a very understandable, comprehensive layout.

First of all, let’s look at the Binaural Distance Panner. This feature allows you to position your source anywhere in the sound field. This gives you the flexibility to move a sound left to right (pan), and “back and forth” (giving a close, intimate effect or a more distant effect).

This feature was the main attraction of the original plugin version, and is incredibly easy-to-use and is a genuinely useful, refined spatialization tool.

This updated plugin’s reverb function integrates perfectly with the binaural distance panner. It gives the option of 5 “wall materials”: Concrete tunnel, Heaven, Wood, Cave and Dark. These presets can then be manipulated by many further parameters, such as tail, size, decay and pre-delay. These options give an incredible level of flexibility, and the audio quality of the reverb tails is sublime. It’s worth mentioning that it automatically sets the levels of early and late reflections, based on distance settings.

Even if you have no use for the spatialization tool, I would recommend this plugin for the reverb alone. This feature is even included in the free version, so it’s a no-brainer.

The plugin also includes a fantastic binaural delay feature, with several parameters such as diffusion, tempo and feedback. An LFO feature is also included, allowing you to create tempo-synced modulations for pan, far, tilt and gain. It is without a doubt a huge improvement on the original product.

Panagement 2 is a hidden gem. This plugin will give you an insane amount of control over the spatial sound design of a track, and is capable of many unique, transformative sonic effects.
