Slate Digital Releases “Fresh Air” – FREE Dynamic Processor Plugin
Slate Digital have released a FREE high-frequency dynamic processor plugin “Fresh Air” this Black Friday.
Fresh Air is based on vintage exciter circuits and state-of-the-art dynamics processing, and designed to add a hint of brightness and “shine” to your sounds without adding harsh, resonant frequencies.
So what exactly is Fresh Air?
Fresh Air has a gorgeous, stripped-back interface featuring two main knobs: “Mid Air” and “High Air”, with each knob seemingly affecting a different frequency range.
Each knob adds its own unique tonal flair, with Mid Air adding a clean, spacious effect with a hint of vintage warmth, and High Air adding stunningly smooth, lush high-end.
If I’m honest, I’m not sure on the EXACT sonic processing that’s going on here (Slate Digital would, of course, never give away their secret formula) but it sounds pretty incredible.
After testing this free plugin on a range of sounds, I found it gave particularly good results on vocals. Fresh Air makes it insanely easy to add presence and clarity to a vocal track. This free plugin also sounds great on snares / other percussive elements, and various other sounds.
I can see this plugin proving especially useful to beginners to music production, as it offers a no-nonsense method for adding some crisp, spacious character to your track. Highly recommend checking this one out.
Fresh Air is available now for FREE on both PC and Mac.
